Was great to see so many of you at the club for the Hangover Trophy, and so many braving the weather to play! After a good showing by the touch team the main game against Shoreham started just as the weather got worse. A very sensible decision to play a shortened game led to a fun afternoon catching up with friends and listening to the band. Thanks to all involved in organising the day.

The bad weather continued to dog us all weekend, on Saturday the men’s first team travelled up to Trinity for the game to be cancelled due to frozen pitches, the women’s game was also postponed due to the weather. All training was called off on Sunday and Monday due to the pitches being waterlogged, thanks to Yaz and Graeme for being out at 7am to check the conditions of the pitches.

Hopefully the weather will be kinder to us this week as we have the first home fixtures of the year with the men’s firsts playing East Grinstead, the seconds are away at Seaford and on Sunday the women host Barnes.

There is a club lunch on Saturday served at 12:30. Main course is pork chops served with roast potatoes and seasonal veg or Spinach Ricotta Ravioli and salad. Followed by either Sicilian Lemon Tart or a cheeseboard for £15, children’s meal of chicken burger & chips followed by ice cream for £6. There is a lot of lost property at the club, this will be on display in the entry hall for the next two weeks so you can check to see if that is where that rugby shirt vanished to. All items remaining after that time will be disposed of.
